Food Access Resources & Drive
By this weekend we'll be in the first week of November without SNAP funding for families. Though it's been ruled that SNAP benefits have to be at least partially funded, we already know that families will get less than 50% of their usual funds, with some getting as little as $12 per months for their food assistance. About 8 percent of King County residents use SNAP to help pay for their groceries every month.

We believe food is a human right. Nobody, especially children, should go hungry.
Thankfully, many other local small businesses like us seem to believe the same, and have stepped up to do their part to fill the gaps. We have created this page to gather resources for both our community members in need and those who are looking to help get families access to food. This list is constantly being updated and combining various sources, mainly from the U-District Food Bank, The Stranger, and Seattle Mutual Aid, all of whom we want to thank for their time and effort into putting this information together.
Please use every business and organization on this list as a resource if you're in need, or as a place to support and donate to if you have any spare food, cash and/or time. Make sure to call or look at Donations pages for guidelines on how and what to donate to make the most impact.

The Stranger has compiled a list of resources in and around Seattle ~ all of these places will provide either hot meals, free groceries, or discounted food services.
Here at Bootyland Kids we'll have a running food drive through November: choose whether you want to donate non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation at our register ~ donate any amount, with or without purchase.
All proceeds will go to local food access services and non-profits, starting in our Capitol Hill neighborhood then in the rest of the greater Seattle area.
