Conscious Step ~ Super Comfy Terry Socks
Back during the Holiday Season, we found ourselves looking for small, eco-conscious gifts for both children and adults and came across the cutest socks brand. But Conscious Step is a lot more than just adorable printed socks: they are connected with several nonprofit partners and support them with every purchase, focusing on a collective effort on conservation, sustainable development, and peace and prosperity for people and the planet.
As a sustainable family store that has been carrying organic clothing for more than 20 years, we have a deep appreciation for the commitment Conscious Step makes to environmental and social justice. Each pair of socks supports a different nonprofit organization: from Conservation International to the Trevor Project, to Oceana and the Planetary Society, we love to have the ability to support social and environmental causes we and our customers care about. We also love how Conscious Steps takes responsibility for their manufacturing process by keeping it sustainable and transparent, from the materials used to the working conditions in their factories. Each pair of socks is made of vegan GOTS and Fair Trade certified organic cotton. This cotton is sustainably sourced in India, the largest producer of organic cotton in the world, and is non-gmo, pesticide- and insecticide-free; the cotton and socks are sourced and produced in fair and transparent working conditions, with minimum wage compliance, no child labor, paid overtime, and yearly audits from certified boards to make sure every aspect of the production chain meets fair trade and environmental standards. This makes Conscious Step socks easier on our skin and mind, as we know that they were produced ethically and not at the expense of people and the planet.
