An-Magrith Erlandsen is a Norwegian Seattle Native and Fine Artist, Master Oil Painter, Art Teacher and BATIK ARTIST. An-Magrith discovered BATIK in 1992 during her travels in Indonesia, Bali, and Papa New Guinea, and has since then infused each of her pieces with her unique touch and Vision. She paints from her original imagery from Tarot of the Pomegranate.
BATIK is a labor intensive layered process of painting with beeswax and soaking the cloth in various dye baths. BATIK is a Powerful and Ancient Art form that was and is still practiced in various cultures around the world. Pomegranate Batik invokes the Ancient Art of Painting and Wearing Batik with the Ancient Protective and Empowering Spirit of Creation. Traditional Cultural Symbols are often used in the Art of Batik to thwart the Evil Eye. The Good works, SPIRIT and Intentions of the Artist is key to their power.
