In his former career as an educator, author Michael De Feo came to the conclusion that the market was lacking good art books for children. Inspired to create one himself, he created the body of work on the streets of New York that eventually became Alphabet City. This award-winning, playful book encourages both children and parents to pay attention to their everyday surroundings by placing De Feo’s joyful images in the context of art in the streets. Witty and whimsical, the book is bound as a children’s board book and features high quality photographic reproductions throughout.
Best known in the street art movement for his ubiquitous and iconic flower image, artist Michael De Feo has been creating illegal works on the streets for more than 20 years in more than 40 international cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Cabo San Lucas, Amsterdam, Paris, Venice, Buenos Aires, and Hong Kong. His work has appeared in countless media outlets, and he was recently chosen by Russell Simmons and The Rush Arts Philanthropy Foundation as their featured artist of 2014. De Feo lives with his wife and daughter in New York.
