Choosing Sustainable Textiles

Anyone who has done it knows that if you walk into our cute Capitol Hill shop you will be met with a range of colorful textiles for all ages and seasons. If you start looking on the left, you'll see a true rainbow of silk costumes, with capes and wings leading you on all sorts of magical adventures. If you choose to go on the right, you'll inevitably be drawn to our seasonal display of kids clothing, now crowned by reversible strawberry dresses ready for a morning at the farmer's market. But no matter which direction you start with, you will continue our short shop loop surrounded by bright and soft textiles that can fit from the littlest baby to the grownup pushing the stroller.

As constant choosers and curators, we love a circular structure. The infinite cycles of nature inspire us and are reflected in our aesthetic and organizational choices: regulars will tell us that you can circle the shop many times and you will see something new on every loop. But how do we honor the natural processes that inspire us in our everyday practices? Our first choice is to select textiles that are harvested and produced in ways that respect our planet and appreciate the resources she provides. Click below to find out more about:
